our winemaking philosophy

We aim to tease by producing award winning wines that have been evoking fun and great conversation since 2005. We strive to produce the truest expression of every wine varietal we offer. We start with high quality fruit, harvested by our growing partners from their world renowned vineyards in the Pacific Northwest. We’ve chosen to forgo the limitations of an estate vineyard, which gives our winemaker Peter, the freedom to choose the best fruit available, even during challenging growing seasons. We believe that attention to detail, vineyard diversity, and intentional blending practices are what make our award winning wines great.

Peter Steinfeld

Serendipity introduced Peter to the former owners and founders while riding a chairlift at Mt. Hood in 2010. They were looking for a full-time winemaker and as luck would have it, Peter was just the man for the job! Having grown up in Germany, Peter learned winemaking and distilling at an early age from his uncle. When he was older, he enjoyed fabulous wines all over the world. He and his wife Kristi purchased the company in 2017. Kristi is an Oregonian. She got her B.A. in Visual Design from U of O. She then went back to school 17 years later and got a masters in Occupational Therapy from Pacific University. Both she and Peter met in Hood River at Three Rivers Restaurant, while having lunch at separate tables. As she was leaving, he ran after her, gave her his number and asked her to go skiing with him. She finally called him a month later, he remembered her and they've been skiing together ever since. They are now married and work side by side enjoying every minute of owning a really FUN company with the most amazing team of people and an even more amazing family of wine club members and guests.
