Treat Your Self!

Treat Your Self!

Our March Club Evoke theme is all about self-care. Whether that looks like a long solitary bubble bath, a rom-com with your bestie, a run on the beach, or maybe just a glass of good wine at the end of a long day. Whatever it is, consider this a sign to treat yourself. After all, you can't pour from an empty glass.

Evoke Self-Care

Need a little inspo to get you started? Here's how some of our rock-star Evoke team members like to indulge and unwind.

Hallie in Hood River.
I take myself on a sexy dinner/lunch date with a good book. I put my phone down and stay in the present. I also take a disturbing amount of epsom salt and bubble baths.

Natalie in Seaside.
I always start my day with a big glass of water! Hydration is key and I feel like it’s a great way to show my body some love. Also, scrunching my feet in the sand and letting salty waves roll over me while I tilt my head up and enjoy the sunshine. Eyes closed and just breathing always makes me feel amazing!

Kennedy in Bend.
I love tea! I start every morning with black Paris tea, which I find more exciting than your average black tea because it's a little fruity with bergamot undertones. For a mid-level caff, I like Jasmine green tea or anything with floral notes. My favorite night time decaf, which doubles as a sweet treat, is a chamomile vanilla & manuka honey tea. But my all time favorite tea is Khao Hom, it’s a really unique sticky rice tea from Thailand.

A Little Extra Lovin’

Red Wine Body Scrub

No one likes a flake. Lucky for you, this red wine body scrub is just the thing to smooth and restore your dry winter skin. Made with turbinado sugar and coconut oil, it exfoliates and moisturizes at the same time, leaving your skin baby soft. It’s cheap and easy to whip up, indulgent AF… perfect for impromptu pampering. It’s also either a really great way to use up any leftover wine (as if) or a really good excuse to open a new bottle.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/4 cup turbinado sugar
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted

Directions:

Step 1: Using a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and mix together.
*If the sugar scrub is too wet, just add more turbinado sugar until you reach a consistency that you like.

Step 2: Pour mixture into an airtight jar and store it in an easy to reach place for up to one month.

Step 3: Go take a long and relaxing shower or bath and scrub your worries away.

*The coconut oil in this mixture is pretty freakin’ slippery - so take care when rinsing off.

Floral Bath Soak

Just one whiff of these fragrant and floral bath salts and you know you're in for something gooood. Suspend the monotony and wash your worries away. Indulge in a "me moment" for at least as long as the hot water holds out. Pairs well with a heavy pour of La Petite Mort and 24K gold under eye patches.

Step 1:  add the following to a large glass bowl and then mix well

1 cup coarse Himalayan salt

1 cup Epsom salt

2 cups coarse Dead Sea salt

1/2 cup baking soda

Step 2:  In a small glass bowl, mix 2 tablespoons apricot kernel oil with 25 drops of the essential oils of your choice. Then add your oil blend to the large bowl with the salts, and mix well.

Step 3: add 1/2 cup dried flowers and mix well

Step 4: soak it up.

Depending on the size of your tub, use about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of this salt blend per bath.

Add your bath salts is after the tub is full. If you add them while the water is running, the aromatherapy scents will evaporate before the fun even starts. Don't forget to remove the flowers and discard them before draining the bath water, so you don’t clog your drain.

** This is a pretty large recipe, so try splitting your salt mixture into 4 and playing with different combinations of scents. They also make fantastic gifts - make a splash and share the self love with someone special.

Cheers!
