The Story Behind Off The Record

If you’ve never heard of Carménère before, you’re definitely not alone. Known as the “lost grape” of Europe, this wine has an elusive and interesting past. Thought to be extinct for almost a century and posing as “merlot” vines in Chile, Carménère is having a serious late in life comeback.

As its popularity grows, so too do the acres of vines being planted across Eastern Washington and Oregon. Off The Record is a nod to this wine's ability to fly under the radar for so long.
